Wednesday. I love Wednesdays. It is great to get to the middle of the week. Today was an amazing day. I ran into a favorite friend of mine. Someone who I should have contacted way before now but what matters is that we reconnected today.
Today was the first storm of the winter. It is Feb. 29th, I thought that we could get through the rest of winter without any snow at all. I don't even have a snow/ice scrapper in my car. That taught me that sad lesson, I had to scrape 4 or 5 inches of snow off my pretty car with some toilet paper. Emma and I left the house this morning not realizing that we were in for a snow storm tonight, no coat or gloves. I was hoping all the way home that we wouldn't slide off the road.

Life is Good
Elle and I took Emma down to Provo to meet some of her friends from China. We then drove to my sister Allison's house and she fed us dinner. It was so good. Allison has come a long way from the first year of her marriage and not knowing how to cook a baked potato. She is now one of the best cooks I know! Her soup and homemade bread bowls were amazing!
Saturday was fun too! I hosted a couples party. All my brothers, sisters their spouses and my parents had a great family Bunko game. Scott and I came in very last place, it was the best. This is the reason why I moved back to Utah. I missed spending time with my siblings. It has been even better then I expected to be able to reconnect with all of my family and make such great memories.
Monday was a day spent in my PJ's. I loved that!! Emma made a plate of cookies to share with a friend and we just had a day of rest and relaxation.
Now I am up to speed with the last few days. Today was another great day. Emma and I had the opportunity to cut hair on our first "live" models. It was so great. My sisterinlaw and niece came in and it was nice to finally get our hands on some real live hair.
Also Emma got her first date invitation. She is going on a blind date on Saturday. I am so excited for her :) I also got to drive Elle to school this morning. (usually her Grandpa drives her) We had a fun time and decided that we are going to have sleep over in my bed tonight (When Scott is out of town she sometimes likes to sleep with me). I love to sleep and snuggle with Elle, she is one of my favorite people in the world. She makes me laugh.
Life is good.
I am so grateful for Tanner. I miss him and am so excited that we are more then half way through his mission.

What's the Dealeo?? Green Noses!
Today was a great day. I hope you all don't get tired of hearing me say my day was great. Because I seem to have really great days all the time!
Today my mom Barbara and daughter Elle came to school and got manicures. I did my mom's hand and Emma worked on Elle's. Afterwards Elle had something done to her nose....Look at the pictures below and see if you can tell what Elle had done.
I am grateful that my medicine is working. I feel much better :)

Now she has two things in her nose!!
Do you know what it is yet???
Oh my gosh...Emma has something growing out of her nose too!
Stupid daughter pressure! They made me do it. What do you think it is??
P.S. Can you see the Shirley Temple curls Emma put in my hair today?
Emma did a beautiful job on Elle's hands :)
Grandma and Elle's hands. I think age is beautiful especially when it is my mom's loving hands.

The Good definitely out weighs the BAd :)
Today has been good and bad.
Good because....
1. I had a great day with Emma in school.
2. I had a great night with both girls this evening watching A.I. the favorite Korean (that Emma says she will marry) got through to the final 24!!! This brought much cheers and screaming in our household tonight.
3. Emma gave me a pedi this afternoon.
4. Scott sent me a really sweet email telling me he muddies me...made me laugh. (he meant misses me but auto correct thought he really wanted to say muddies hahahahah)
5. Finally it was a beautiful warm 55 degree day! Amazing :)
6. Oh, I forgot to mention that I got my new boots in the mail!! They are so dang cute and I only paid $20 for them including shipping cost (they didn't have my size and so they shipped them to me from another store). I got them at the outlet store Bass. Normally $150!! I love that!!! Allison and Katie you must go to the Bass outlet store and get yourselves some shoes 85% off all of their winter shoes :)
Hard because....
1. I have a bladder infection that I had to go see the dr. about.
2. I had to use the toilet about 15 times today.
3. I had to go fill my prescription after school and it took forever.
That is all. Mostly my day was great. But if you have ever had a bladder infection you know that it can almost ruin the day no matter how great everything else is.
I am so grateful for the good times today. My girls are asking me about sex right now and it is making me laugh. Elle just asked me if Scott and I role play in our sex life!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMGosh This is my 14 year old daughter.

My President's Day Surprise
Yesterday was Presidents Day. I took Scott to the airport at 9 am thinking I wouldn't see him again until Saturday. He was on his way to Hawaii. But about a good 15 minutes into his flight the pilot turned the plane around and returned back to SLC, he said there was electrical problems with the plane. Much to my surprise Scott called me and asked me to come pick him up :) He wasn't going to be able to catch another flight to Hawaii until this morning. That meant one more night with Scott! That meant a family movie and dinner night!! We had so much fun. We went and saw This Means War (I think that is what it is called) and then sushi afterwards. I loved the movie. I couldn't stop laughing during the whole thing. It was just surprisingly cute and witty. I am so glad that the plane had problems because that meant 24 more hours with Scott!!
Today Emma and I had a great day at school. She gave me a manicure. I gave her a manicure also. Emma also got a facial and then I waxed her eyebrows. Today was pamper Emma day!
I also did a hair cut on my manikin and did pretty good. Now if I could just remember how I did it so I could do it again....
I am grateful for Elle. I went to parent teacher conference with her tonight and all her teachers had wonderful praise for her. I already knew she was awesome like that but sometimes it is nice to hear others (not your mom) say the same thing!

Happy to Be Healthy!
I have had the best relaxing day.
Last night I had a horrible night. In the past 6 years I have had esophogus spasms on 4 different occasions that cause me sever pain. What happens is my esophogus contracts repeatedly over a long period of time. If you have had a baby then you can compare the pain to the contracting of your uterus when you are in labor to the contracting of my esophogus. It HURTS...A LOT. I have had signs that I would be experiencing something of the sort because this last week when I ate my food it tended to get caught in my esophogus and I had to be careful about what I ate and the size of bites that I ate. Anyway, my night was not pleasant after being awake from 2-4 am in major pain. I decided not to attend stake conference and just rest and let my body get over the shock of that kind of pain.
My day has been so nice if I just don't think about what happened last night. I got to stay in my pj's all day. I got to take a nice nap. I got to read my scriptures. I got to visit with my girls and Scott. I got to spend some good amount of time on pinterest. I got to watch a movie with Emma. It has just been a nice relaxing much needed day of rest.
I am grateful for my health. I realize there must be oposition in all things. That means that I must suffer through some bodily pain sometimes, otherwise I wouldn't be as grateful for the time when I am healthy!
I haven't had a picture of Elle on my blog for a while so I wanted to put this on today :) I love her so much!

Missionaries
We had a nice dinner with the missionaries tonight. Here are some pictures of our evening. Elder Needham is from Notingham England. Elder Earley is from Texas. My girls are in love with one of the missionaries but I won't say which one but he might have a funny accent :)

I love to laugh
Today was a great day. My sweet husband took me out to lunch and my sweet daughter did my nails!
I have a gggggreat instructor in school, I really like him, he makes me laugh. You all know how I love to laugh. I laugh a lot at school. Today he told us a story about how when he first started to teach school he was getting ready for work one day and had a "spasm" and hit his self in the eye with a hair brush and gave himself a black eye. My instructor's name is Lyle and he is the most patient man. He works with many, many, many women and even most of them are just young girls. Crazy hormones and girl crap happening all through out the day and it just doesn't faze him. He just lets things roll off this back and he works with everyone so well. I am really impressed.
I am grateful for the my sisters. I love them.
Lyle playing around with the students at school wearing a wig.

Beauty, we do go to great lengths to achieve it!
What a day :)
I am grateful for Scott he came home early this week and it was so nice to sit down with him on a Wednesday and snuggle on the couch!

I had my WHOLE face waxed (if you know me well you know how hairy my face really is :)
I had my eyebrows and eyelashes tinted (or dyed).
It took 3 hours to do this but it was worth every minute and painful hair being ripped out of my face...jk. It wasn't really that painful TRUTHFULLY! I think I have a high pain tolerance and last fall when I had a woman use the string method to remove my face hair it was soooooooooooo painful that it made me cry and I will never use that method again. Give me some gooey green wax any day over a piece of thread.

Super
Today was a super day. That is my new word. Super. I seem to be using this word alot lately to describe everything. Kind of like when I use to describe things in my past by saying awesome. I really need to develop my vocabulary skills better....JS.
Back to my SUPER day.
I got to give Emma a deep conditioner and scalp manipulation. Doesn't that sound technical? Really what I did was put oil in her hair and give her a DANG GOOD head massage. It was a massage even Ann would be proud of :)
I also learned how to wax someones face! Today Emma had her eyebrows done. Tomorrow Emma is going to do mine and I get to do another persons eyebrows too. I love waxing. In the past I have enjoyed plucking my girls eyebrows and now this is an even better method of doing it.
I am so grateful for Valentines Day. What a great day to say I love you. If you are reading this blog then it means that I really love you!!
Emma applying some stuff to my hair before the scalp manipulation :) she did a super job!
I think Emma looks like one of those super Lumpa Lumpa guys from Willie Wanka and the Chocolate Factory with her green eyebrows.

This is Angelica. She is an angel. Her name fits her personality perfect. I have had the opportunity to meet some really sweet girls at the school and I have to say hands down she is one of my favorites!
I just love learning from her.
She is Emma's age and is a senior in high school but she has the soul of a wise, patient and loving person.

Getting ready to start my week
I had a great weekend. I worked hard on putting together my frozen crockpot dinners and finished them off today. I am going to see how they taste and if they are good then I think I may be converted to freezer cooking. I love the idea of taking a few hours once a month to put together 20ish dishes that I can throw into the crockpot in the morning and have a meal waiting for us when I get home from school. I think this is an awesome way to cook healthy when you have no time to actually cook.
I am looking forward to this week because I just know I am going to learn lots of things. I have all my meals made for this week and....Elle has her two best friends taking the missionary discussions :) This will be their 3rd appointment and I think one of them (a girl named Kayla) is taking it very seriously she is actually on 1Nephi 6 in just two days. (That actually impresses me).
The reason why the girls were interested in the lessons is because we happen to have a really cute missionary from England serving in our area right now. But if the reason why they want to meet the missionaries is because they are cute but they keep learning because they are searching for truth and really interested in learning more about the LDS religion then I say send out all the cute missionaries to our area because I think EVERY missionary is cute!!
Speaking of missionaries....I miss mine.
Last week Emma and I got to work on real clients :) I did a color and style and Emma helped with a color correction. I have realized that all those times that I colored Emma and elle's hair in the past I was doing it wrong. I really didn't know what the heck I was doing. No wonder one time Emma's hair turned orange :)
I am so grateful for Mondays. They give me a break and I get to chillaxe. Plus I get Tanner's emails on Mondays!
We have so much fun at school. Emma showed us her mad skills as she ate a cookie without using her hands :) I know I have a talented daughter!

Not a Morning person
I hope this blog doesn't get to boring. But I guess I will be talking a lot about school since that is what my life is focused on right now.
I have stated before that I am going to school with Emma. For the most part we get along very well. Even better then very well. I love to be around her and she is one of my favorite daughters :) but I can see that I might get on her nerves at times. Today she was frustrated with something she was trying to do and I was trying to help her with it and she got very ornery with me with me. I just don't get irritated as easily as she does and sometimes it is hard for me to relate to people who get so ornery. Another thing that I already knew about Emma but it has become very apparent to me in a different way is that Emma is NOT a morning person. Until about noon (actually after lunch) her mood is not as happy and she gets frustrated more easily. On the other hand I am a morning person and then I crash around 7 pm when our day is over but she is just getting started with Elle when we get home.
I hope we can make it through our year of school together without to many moments when she is mad at me but they are bound to happen.
I am grateful that Scott is taking me out on a special valentines date tomorrow night.

What's for dinner?? Poptart or Grilled Chicken?
I am happy to be half way through my week :) I am exhausted and would like to crawl into my bed right now but I am going to cook some things for dinner to have for the next few nights. I don't get home until 7pm and by the time Emma and I walk through the door I am starving!! If I don't prepare better I am going to end up eating junk for dinner because I don't have the patience and energy to make dinner after standing on my feet for 10 hours a day....so I am off to pinetrest to see what recipes I can find :)
But speaking of pinetrest, I love it and I think it is weird at the same time. (Thanks for getting me hooked Allison)
I am grateful for my knowledge and testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am glad I know where I came from, that I am a daughter of God, what my purpose is here on this earth and what I can achieve after my time on this earth if I make the right choices in my life. WOW, many people don't know any of that. I can't imagine what my life would be like without that knowledge.
Emma pulled Magnum's hair through a cap today and gave him some orange hightlights! I gave mine some normal blond highlights.

Missionaries are my favorite kind of people
Today was a great busy day. After 10 hours of rolling perms and learning that stress does cause gray hair my girls and I drove into SLC to see a dear friend of ours. Elder James Holladay fresh from Minnesota was spending the night with an aunt before he is off to the MTC tomorrow. It was so wonderful to see my old home teacher!! It really brought back lots of memories and feelings of a great time in my life. I can't believe it has been less then a year since we lived in Minnesota. I miss my friends and the members of the 2nd ward sooooo much.
I am excited to report that the girls and I will be visiting Rochester for a whole week the first week of April. We all have a week off of school for spring break and I can't think of a better way to spend it then with the people I love from Rochester!
I am so grateful for missionaries....they are the best!

Magnum P.I.
I had another good day. I learned how to trim a man's beard (not!... I really suck at that) but I did feel good about the time I got to spend with Emma!

I am grateful for a warm house. (It snowed here today...brrrr)

A New Adventure Following My Dreams!
Okay I am ready to start posting again!
I feel so tired and great at the same time. I started cosmetology school today with Emma. We are going 4 days a week 10 hours each day. This program will take us 1 year to complete but I think the long run it will be worth it to get done in a year instead of dragging it out for two years.
Emma said to me around January 1st that she thought she wanted to go to cosmetology school and as soon as she said that I had no doubt that I wanted to go too!
We had a great first day. Cutting our manikin hair, rolling a perm and using the clippers on another manikin.
I am sure I will be totally wiped out after each day but I am going to enjoy having this adventure with Emma! I love her and we make each other laugh :)
Today I am grateful for new beginnings. A fresh start after many of years of having a dream do this.
